| dc.description.abstract | Etik kelimesi çok sık kullanılmakta olup pek çok metinde yeralmaktadır. İnsanların çoğu muhtemelen etik davranışın neyi vurguladığı hakkında fikir sahibidirler – bu bir şeyin iyi yapılması anlamındadır. Ekonomistler, gıda üretim davranışlarındaki üç çeşidi betimleyerek, tarımsal üretimdeki etik standartların daima kendi ödülünü getirmeyeceğini belirleyen durumların da olası olduğunu söylemektedirler. Tüketicilerin davranışları; araştırma, tecrübe ve güven şeklinde etiketlenmektedir. Sağlık iddiaları ve besin etiketlemesi konusu toplumun etik olarak davranan gıda üreticilerinin ilgisini korumaya yönelik adımlar atılmasına gerek duyabildiği ve onları etik davranışlarının istikrarını korumasını talep ettiği gerçeğini vurgulamaktadır. Etik matriksin ilk prensibi ve en önemlisi üretici ve tüketicinin refahını da belirten faydadır. Gıda tüketiminde sağlık tehlikelerine neden olacak gıda üretim süreçleri, tüketicilerin refahını azaltma potansiyeline sahiptir. Bunun en uç ve en tehlikeli boyutu da gıda zehirlenmesinden oluşabilecek ölümlerdir. Buradaki önemli katılım, neyin yanlış gittiğini anlamaktır. Herkes kabul etmelidir ki gıda sektöründeki etik davranış güvenli gıda sağlanmasıdır. Gıda pazarlarındaki finansal spekülasyonun ne ölçüde gıda fiyatı artışlarına ve fiyat dalgalanmasına katkıda bulunduğu devam eden şiddetli bir tartışmadır. İster fayda, ister adalet prensibi açısından bakılsın, eğer bir ürün spekülasyonu gıda fiyatlarına etki ediyorsa, bu etik davranış olarak açıklanamaz. | tr_TR |
| dc.description.abstract | The word ethical is now in frequent use and appears in a wide range contexts. Most people probably believe they have some understanding of what behaving ethical implies – that is something to do with doing good. Economists have suggested that, by delineating three kinds of food product attributes, it is possible to identify circumstances in which ethical standarts in agricultural production may not always bring their own reward. Consumer attributes have been labeled; search, experience and credence. The issue of health claims and food labeling highlights the fact that society may sometimes need to take steps to protect the interest of the food producer who behaves ethically, and regulate to provide for uniformity in their attempts to do so. The first of the ethical matrix is wellbeing and, crucially, this of course includes the wellbeing of those who consume the food product, as well as those who produce it. Food production processes that induce health hazards in food consumption have the potential to reduce the wellbeing of consumers – and the extreme version of this is death from food poisoning. Here, the important contribution is to understand, what went wrong. Everyone accepts that ethical behavior in the food industry implies supplying safe food. There is an ongoing and vigorous debate around the extent to which financial speculation in food commodity markets contributes to food price rises and price volatility. Whether viewed form the principle of wellbeing or of fairness, if commodity speculation does contribute to food price volatility, then this cannot be described as ethical behavior. | en_US |
