dc.description.abstractDescartes kuşkuyu olanaklı bir kesinliği keşfedebilmek amacıyla bir yöntem olarak kullanmıştır. Ama bu arada, kuşkulanma ihtimalini beraberinde getirdiği için deliliği ele almak yerine düşünceden tamamen dışlamıştır. Bu dışlama bir dönüm noktasıdır. Foucault bu gelişmelerin, Batı kültürünün dışavurumu niteliğindeki simalardan sadece biri olan Descartes'ın suçu olduğunu ileri sürmez. Foucault bu gelişmelerin bizzat Batı'nın akıl tasarısında içerildiğini ima etmektedir. Bu tasarı açısından paradigmatik olan tutum, aklın kendisinden kuşkulanmayı reddetmektir ve Descartes bunun örneklerinden sadece biridir.tr_TR
dc.description.abstractDescartes used skepticism as a method in order to discover a probable certainty. However, he entirely excluded insanity, instead of handling, from thought since this brings out the probability of suspecting. This exclusion appears to be a landmark. Foucault does not put forward that these developments are the fault of Descartes who was one of the reflecting figures of Western culture. In contrast, Foucault implies that these developments do exist within the mental design of the West. The paradigmatic attitude through this design rejects any suspicion of mind towards it and Descartes is only a model for this attitude.en_US
