Abstract
Günümüzde Ameliyathane ölümlerinde anesteziye bağlı, cerrahiye bağlı ve hatanın hastalığına bağlı nedenler aranmaktadır. Anesteziye bağlı ölümlerin insidensi anestezi sayısının 1/3.000-1/5.000 arasında değişmektedir. Bazı yazarlar, anestezinin mortalite oranının kolay saptanamıyacağını ve anestezi ölüm oranın sıfır olabileceğini ileri sürmektedirler. Yine yazarlar anestezi ölüm oranını dikkatsizlik veya tecrübe azlığının bir göstergesi olarak kabul etmektedirler.
Three major categories are used for classification of operation room-deaths. These are; Anesthetic Deaths, Surgical Deaths and Disease of Patient. The incidence of anesthesia-related deaths is about 1 in 3.000 to 5. 000 anesthetics. According to some authors, the mortality rate of anesthesia is not easily measured and the death rate of anesthesia may actually be zero. They suggest that the rate of anesthesia deaths is often index of carelessness or skillness.
