Gladyatör oyunları ve mekanları

Abstract

Tiyatro, toplumun sosyal yaşantısındaki değişimleri yansıtır. Gladyatör oyunları, İtalya’nın dışına yayılmasıyla birlikte tiyatro yapılarında da düzenlenmeye başlamıştır. Bu nedenle de tiyatro mimarisi şekil değiştirmiştir. Gladyatör oyunlarının düzenlenebilmesi ve bu sırada seyircileri, arenanın tehlikelerinden korumak için tiyatro mimarisine bir takım eklemeler yapılmıştır. Bu tez çalışmasında Asia eyaletindeki tiyatrolar özelinde bu değişimler incelenmiştir. Gladyatör oyunları denilince akla ilk olarak gladyatörlerin birbirleri ile dövüşlerinden ibaret olan munus’lar gelir. Ancak gladyatörlerin yer aldığı gösteriler oldukça çeşitlidir. Bu tez kapsamında ise munus’ların yanı sıra gladyatörlerin yer aldığı ve tiyatro mimarisine etkisi olan venatio ve naumakhia gibi oyunlar da ele alınmıştır. Mimariye etki etmeyen gösteriler ise kapsam dışında bırakılmıştır. Asia eyaletindeki tiyatroların gladyatör oyunları açısından değişimi, Gallo-Romen tiyatro örnekleri ile karşılaştırılmış ve söz konusu değişimlerin bu iki tiyatro tipi üzerindeki boyutları tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak ise eldeki veriler dâhilinde Asia eyaletindeki tiyatroların tipolojisi hakkında bilgi verilmiştirTheater reflects the changes in the social life of society. With the spread of gladiatorial games outside of Italy, they began to be organized in theater buildings as well. Thus, theater architecture has changed shape. Some additions were made to the theater architecture in order to organize gladiatorial games and to protect the audience from the dangers of the arena. In this thesis, these changes were examined in theaters in the province of Asia. When it comes to gladiator games, the first thing that comes to mind is munera, which consists of gladiators fighting each other. However, spectacles that gladiators got involved are varied. Within the extent of this thesis, besides the munus, plays such as venatio and naumachia, which include gladiators and have an effect on theatrical architecture, are also discussed. Spectacles that don't effect architecture are excluded from the extent. The changes of theaters in Asia province in terms of gladiator games was compared with Gallo-Roman theater examples and the extents of these changes on these two theater types were discussed. As a result, information is given about the typology of theaters in province of Asia within the available data
