Abstract
Bu makalenin amacı, ‘otorite’ kavramının anlamını özellikle politik bilim ve teoloji bağlamında ve bilhassa onların kesiştikleri noktalarda tartışmaktır. İlkin, otorite nedir? Kabul edileceği gibi, otoriteye sahip olanlar her şeyden önce kişilerdir. Kişilerin otoritesi nihayetinde aklın itaatine ve feragatine dayanmaz. Bilakis kabul edilmeye ve bilgiye yaslanır. Ancak bu bilgi, kişinin yargılarında ve vukufunda bizzat üstün olan bir ötekidir; bir başka ifadeyle, söz konusu otoritenin, kişinin kendi üstünde bir önceliği vardır. Dahası bu bilgi irfandan bağımsız olmayan bir bilgidir. Otoritenin ilkeleri herhangi bir gerekçeden dolayı değil, gerekçenin ötesindeki seçimden dolayı benimsenir. Zira seçim, gerekçelendirmeye karşı koyan bir şeydir. Gerekçenin işlemez olduğu yerde, belki de otoriteden söz ediyoruzdur. Dahası gerekçe ve otorite kavramları bir birine sıkı sıkıya bağlı olmayıp, birbirini dışlayıcıdır.
The main purpose of this paper discusses to meaning of authority in political science and theology context. What is the authority? Admittedly, it is primarily persons that have authority; but the authority of persons is ultimately based not on the subjection and abdicati onof reason but on an act of acknowledgment and knowledge –the knowledge, namely, that the other is superior to onself in judgument and insight and that for thisreasonhis judgument takes precedence –it has priority over one’s own. This knowledge doesn’t subjection from wisdom. What authority such principles possess derives from the reasons for my chocie. Insofar as they are good reasons, the principles have corresponding authority; insofar as they are not, the principles are to that same extent deprived of authority It would follow that a principle for the choice of whic no reasons could be given would be a principle devoid of authority.
