Abstract
Dinler, inananlarından sadece dinî pratikler istemez. İnsanın ilişkilerini de düzenler. Ahlâk bir “ilişkiler kompleksi” olarak görülebilir. İyi ilişkilerle paralel gitmeyen, daha doğrusu ahlâkî bir zemin üzerine kurulmayan bir dindarlığın, zaman zaman olumsuz yansımaları gözlemlenir. Bundan dolayı, dindar insanda haklı olarak ahlâkî yetkinlik de aranır. Dindar olduğunu söyleyen kişi, ortalama insanın bile sahip olduğu ahlâkî yetkinlikten yoksun ise, o dindarlık, sorgulanması gereken, problemli bir dindarlıktır. Şu net olarak ifade edilebilir ki, iyi Müslüman olmanın/dindarlığın yolu, öncelikle “iyi insan olma”dan geçer. İyi insan olmadan, insanlığın gerektirdiği ahlâkî değerler kuşanılmadan iyi Müslüman/dindar olmak mümkün değildir. Bu makale, insanî/ahlâkî erdem – İslâmî/dinî erdem ayırımını merkez alarak, felsefî ve dinî bir temellendirme ile dindarlığın ahlâkî temelini sorgulamayı amaçlamaktadır.
Not only do religions ask their adherents to perform religious duties, but to regulate the relations among themselves as well. One of the prerequisites of being a good human being, according to these religions, is to be ethical. If piety is not based upon the ethical foundations, it is possible, at times, to observe the negative implications of the seemingly pious individual’s behavior in society. If a person, dispossessed of ethical perfection, announces him/her to be pious, the piousness of that person should be questioned. It would be correct, then, to say that the way of being a pious person starts with being first a good human being. That is to say, it is impossible to be pious without meeting the requirements of being ethical and without practicing the ethical values. Based on these premises, this paper aims to question the ethical basis of piety by reference to both philosophical and theological perspectives.
