Abstract

Yaşadığı dönemde selef mezhebinin ateşli müdafilerinden biri olan Hasan B. Alî B. Halef El-Berbehârî (329/941), selef akidesi, hanbelî fıkhı, ahlâk ve âdâb ile il­gili bilgileri Ahmed b. Hanbel'in öğrencisi Ebûbekr el-Mervezi'den almıştır. Döne­ minin siyasi otoritesiyle zaman zaman çatışma halinde olan Berbehârî'nin hayatının belli süresi saklanmakla geçmiştir. Selefin genel kanaatlerinin hepsini benimseyen Berbehârî, bid'at mezheplerine, kelâmcılara ve müfrit sufilere karşı çıkmıştır.al-Hasan B. Ali B. Khalaf al-Barbahârı, who appeared as one of the fiery advo- cates of the Salafisect during his lifetime, has got from Abü Bakr al-Marvazî, one of the students of Ahmad b. Hanbal, the knoıvledge pertaining to the Salafi creed, the Hanbalî jurisprudence, and morals and ethics. al-Barbahârı who had at times been in cnoflict wıith the political authority o f the day has passed certain period o f his life hidden. Having adopted almost ali the general opinions of the Salaf, he has always opposed to the apocryphal sects, scholastic theologians and the extremist sufis.
