Transfontanel US ile saptanan bir serebral abse olgusu

Abstract

Ateş, konvulsiyon, aktivite düşüklüğü ve BOS'ta hücre saptanan bir aylık yenidoğanın transfontanel ultrasonografisinde (US), beyin parankiminde multiple, hipoekoik fokal odaklar saptandı. Aynı gün yapılan bilgisayarlı tomografi(BT) incelemede, kontrastlı kesitlerde boya tutan, multiple hipodens lezyonlar görüldü. Hastanın daha sonra tekrarlanan US ve BT tetkiklerinde lezyonların tipik abse görünümü aldığı izlendi. Lezyonların transfontanel US ile erken dönemde görüntülenmesi, gerek BT ve gerek US görünümün başlangıçta tipik olması nedeniyle olduğumuzu sunmayı amaçladık.One month of age newborn admitted with a history of fever, convulsion, hypoactivity. Transfontanelle US was performed and multiple hyperechoic foci were detected in brain parenchyma. At the same day, CT scanning was performed and multiple hypodense lesions showing contrast enhancement were seen. Lesions changed to typical abscess from following US and CT scans. We report the case since cerebral abscesses can be imaged at the beginning of the disease with transfontanel US although their appearances are not typical on neither CT seans or US images.
