The purpose of this study is to examine how posts about motherhood on Instagram are represented in the context of psychological resilience. Descriptive content analysis was used in the study; a total of 150 posts were analyzed from the Instagram accounts of 15 mothers selected through purposive sampling. The analyzed data were structured under three main categories: psychological resilience, physical activity, and representations of real/natural motherhood. A total of 13 subcodes were identified under these categories. The findings revealed that mothers not only shared idealized narratives of motherhood on social media; they also made visible their coping strategies, physical labor, and true feelings. The most frequently represented category in the study (n: 76) was "psychological resilience," while the most frequently represented subcode (n: 22) was "sincere language and humor." Based on this, it can be assumed that mothers turned to humor when sharing their feelings of inadequacy and daily struggles. According to the findings, the category in which mothers shared the least (n: 39) was physical activity. Based on this result, it can be said that the most frequent narratives on Instagram mother accounts with large follower counts revolve around psychological and sociological elements, while the least frequent posts are about physical activity. It has been observed that mothers struggle to find time for many activities within the physical activity spectrum. When mothers who are able to participate in physical activity are examined, they assert that there is a directly proportional relationship between physical activity and their psychological well-being. This is consistent with information obtained from the literature. The study demonstrates that mothers on Instagram not only create images of ideal motherhood but also resist these images. This research highlights the multidimensional representations of the motherhood experience in the digital environment and offers a critical perspective on the discourses of motherhood constructed on social media.
