Bursa Arkeoloji Müzesi’ndeki Kios kökenli figürlü mezar stelleri

Abstract

Kios antik kenti günümüzde, Bursa ili Gemlik ilçesine bağlıdır. Yapmış olduğumuz çalışmanın konusu Bursa Arkeoloji Müzesinde bulunan Kios antik kentine ait toplamda 18 adet mezar stelidir. Genellikle MÖ 2. yüzyıl – MÖ 1. yüzyıl arasına tarihlenen stellerin yanı sıra en çok üretim görülen tarih MS 2. yüzyıldır. Elimizde sayısal olarak az da olsa MS 3. yüzyıla tarihlenen mezar stelleri de bulunmaktadır. Bu mezar stelleri tek katlı steller, katlı steller, alınlıklı steller, alınlıksız steller, belirsiz steller olarak 5 grup altında incelenmiştir. Mezar stellerini üzerinde yer alan figürler, 4 farklı Pudicitia tipinde kadınlar ve Palliatus ile oturan erkeklerden oluşmaktadır. Üzerine işlenen konulara göre 11 örnekte symposium (yemek ziyafeti) sahnesi yer almaktadır. Bununla birlikte mesleklere işaret eden steller de mevcuttur.

The ancient city of Kios is currently located in Gemlik district of Bursa province. The subject of our study is a total of 18 grave stelae from the ancient city of Kios in the Bursa Archeology Museum. While the steles are generally dated between the 2nd century BC and the 1st century BC, the most produced date is AD. It is the 2nd century. We also have funerary stelae, although numerically few, dating back to the 3rd century AD. These grave stelae were examined under 5 groups: single-storey stelae, storey stelae, pedimented stelae, pedimentless stelae, and indeterminate stelae. The figures on the grave stelae consist of women of four different types of Pudicitia and men sitting with Palliatus. There are symposium (dinner feast) scenes in 11 examples according to the topics covered. However, there are also stelae indicating professions.
