The relation between mounting weight and cocoon yield traits and the possibility of using them in selection were also investigated. The silkworms of the B8 line proved to be superior to Tokai with regard to mounting weight and pupal weight traits (P<0.05). In addition, both lines were found to be similar with respect to cocoon weight. cocoon shell ratio and moth weight. The female silkworm of both lines had higher values with regard to those characters than the males (P<0.01).
