The prevalence of infection was found as 75.78 %. Although a higher prevalence was observed in young pigeons (83.3 %) compared to adults (76.0 %) there was no significant difference between the age classes. No differences in the prevalence of T gallinae could be found between males (77.7 %) and females (79.5 %).
