This study aimed to determine the reading preferences and expectations of second-grade students in primary schools from libraries in the 2017-2018 school year. This study employed a holistic, multi-case study design. The data were collected through interviews with 12 second-grade students, which were selected by criterion sampling method. The findings showed that a total of 15 books were frequently borrowed from the three libraries by the second-grade students. The results also revealed that almost half of the students preferred reading books in quiet environments and opted for the books penned by Mustafa Orakci and Jeff Kinney.
