Materialprufung, 44(4), 144-147.0025-5300http://hdl.handle.net/11452/25841A comparative study of the corrosion behaviour of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel joined by two different welding methods, namely, electric arc and tungsten inert gas welding, has been carried out in boiling commercial nitric acid. The welded austenitic stainless steel specimens were boiled in commercial nitric acid with a concentration of 55% for 44, 96, and 144 hours. Aftewards, the influence of the exposure time on the corrosion behavior of welded austenitic stainless steels was determined.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessMaterials scienceMechanical and microstructural properties of AISI 304 - The effect of intergranular corrosionArticle0001754978000062-s2.0-33751268472144147444Materials science, characterization & testingMonitoring; Necessary; DesignIntergranular corrosionCorrosionAustenitic stainless steelExposure timeTungsten inert gas weldingMicrostructural propertiesTungsten inert gas weldingAISI 304Comparative studiesCorrosion behaviorCorrosion behaviourExposure-timeMicro-structural propertiesStainless steelWelding methodAusteniteElectric arc weldingInert gas weldingNitric acidIntergranular corrosionTexturesInert gas weldingWelded steel structuresCorrosive effectsElectric arcsInert gasesNitric acidSteel corrosionSteel research
