Metall, 58(1-2), 44-46.0026-0746https://hdl.handle.net/11452/38891Grain boundary particles of a ternary, a Mn- containing and a Zr-containing Al-Zn-Mg alloys have been investigated. In the Mn-containing alloy, dispersoids are encountered the grains as well as at the grain boundaries (GBs) together with the equilibrium eta-phase. Large Mn-bearing particles are also present at the grain boundaries in this alloy, however they do not pin the GBs as the Zr-bearing particles. The distribution of the Zr-bearing dispersoids is observed to be irregular both in the grain itself and at the grain boundaries. These effectively impede grain growth.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessMetallurgy and metallurgical engineeringPrecipitation kineticsMicrostructural evolutionAluminum-alloysGrowthNucleationCrystal structureEnergy dispersive spectroscopyGrain boundariesGrain growthHardnessImpuritiesPhase equilibriaPrecipitation (chemical)Transition metalsTransmission electron microscopyX ray analysisDispersoidsIntermetallic phasesThe observation of grain boundary phases in Al-Zn-Mg alloys containing dispersoidsArticle0001892978000092-s2.0-14423115364446581-2Pubmed numarasıMetallurgy and metallurgical engineeringRetrogression; Intergranular Corrosion; Aluminum
