Cumhuriyet döneminin ilk müfredat programlarını hazırlayan kurullarda da yer almıştır. 1924’te hazırlanan edebiyat programına uygun ilk lise I. sınıf edebiyat ders kitabı olan Edebiyat’ı kaleme almıştır. Ders kitabında Türk edebiyatının tür ve şekil özelliklerinin öğretimi, Türk edebiyatının bütün devirlerinden seçilen örnekler aracılığıyla yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Ali Canip Yöntem’in halk edebiyatı hakkındaki düşünceleri ile edebiyat dersleri için hazırladığı ders kitaplarında halk edebiyatının öğretimine ne şekilde yer verdiği incelenecektir.Ali Canip Yontem's ideas on language, literature, aesthetic and the field of education developed during the pre-Republican period. He actualised these ideas in the field of culture and education during the Republican Period. Moreover, he was involved in the committees preparing the first curricula of the period. In accordance with the 1924 programs, he wrote the coursebook named "Literature". In the coursebook, the teaching of the type and characteristics of the Turkish literature was realised by the help of works selected from all periods of Turkish literature.
