International Symposium on Flower Bulbs and Herbaceous Perennials’da bildiri olarak sunulmuştur. There has been increased interest in alternatives to grass within the realm of planting design studies in urban and rural areas. While grasses are usually easy to establish and maintain, other ground cover plant materials are gaining in popularity, areas where planting and maintenance. Ground covers have an aesthetic, economic and functional contribution to places that require less maintenance by their colour, texture and form features. By their aesthetic view, they unify and emphasise whole the landscape. In landscape design studies, generally woody ground covers have been preferred in our country. This is because herbaceous ground covers are not commonly known by users. In this study, the importance of herbaceous ground covers in the landscape design studies has been emphasized and their usage opportunities and contributions have been determined. Number of herbaceous ground covers is given their importance and usage potentials are elaborated. Herbaceous plants should help to increase the diversity of plant materials in landscape design and thereby increasing interest in urban landscape.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessAgriculturePlant sciencesGround coversHerbaceous ground coversLandscape designA research about the importance and usage potential of herbaceous ground covers in landscape designProceedings Paper0003337550000562-s2.0-848829548374214261002AgronomyPlant sciencesHorticultureSyntaxonomy; Ecology; Phytogeographical Region
