Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı’na katılan gazilerin deneyimleri çerçevesinde, Kıbrıs’taki askeri rolleri, harekâta katkıları, savaşın bilinmeyenleri, savaşta en çok neyden etkilendikleri ve en önemlisi de sosyolojik açıdan harekâtın önemi konusu sözlü tarih çalışması ile saptamaya çalışılmıştır. Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı’nın hangi şartlarda kazanıldığını ve harekâta katılan gazilerde ne gibi hisler oluşturduğunu anlamak amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmanın, toprak ve vatan şuurunu pekiştirmeye yönelik olacağı düşünülmektedir. Çalışma kapsamında, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanarak derinlemesine mülakat yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı’nın sadece siyasi ve askeri açıdan değil, adada yaşayan Türklere yönelik zulmün durdurulması, ada halkının barış içinde yaşamasına destek vermesi bakımından yaşanması gereken bir süreç olduğu ve toplumsal açıdan da önemli olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.The research objective is to try to verify the significance of the Cyprus Peace Operation from the perspective Turkish society and the island citizens. For this reason, it has been tried to verify howthe war veterans who participated and experienced in the operation within the framework of their experiences, their military positions in Cyprus, their contributions to the operation, the unknown sof the war, what they were mostly affected by in the war, and most importantly, the significance ofthe operation from the point of view of sociological, by means of oral history study. It is thought thatthis study, which was carried out in order to understand the conditions under which the Cyprus Peace Operation was won and what feelings it created in our veterans who participated in the operation, will aim to corroborate the consciousness of land and homeland.
