Araştırmanın ana materyalini, Bursa ilindeki traktör sahibi tarım işletmeleri arasından örnekleme yoluyla seçilmiş 135 işletme oluşturmuştur. Araştırma yöresinde birim alana (ha) 4.53 BG traktör gücü düşmekte ve bir traktöre ise 10.07 ha alan isabet etmektedir. İncelenen işletmelerde traktörler yılda ortalama 423.8 saat çalışmaktadırlar. Traktörler ortalama olarak 271.2 saat (% 63.99) işletmenin tarımsal işlerinde, 100.2 saat (% 23.65) tarım dışı işlerde ve 52.40 saat (% 12.36) de başkalarının işlerinde kullanılmışlardır. Çalışmada, yöredeki çeşitli tarımsal işlemler için alınan birim başına ücretlerle, aynı işlemler için işletmelerin birim başına yaptıkları masraflar mukayese edilmiş ve sadece 200 da 'dan daha büyük araziye sahip işletmelerin rasyonel çalıştıkları saptanmıştır.The purpose of this study were to investigate mechanization level and to determine whether the tractors were used rationally or not, by the farmers in Bursa Province. The main data of this research was collected through an interview from 135 farmers, selected by sampling, out of tractor owned farmers in Bursa province. The questionnaries were filled 1992. In the research area, the tractors work about 323.6 hours in a year. The finding show that, the power of tractors ina unit area was 4.53 HP/ha and one tractor cultivates approximately 10.07 hektares of farmland in the district. The working hours of tractors a year increase as the famıs expanded. The tractors are used, averagely 271.2 hours (63.99 %) at the agricultural works, and 100.2 hours (23.65 %) none agricultural works, and 5240 hours (12.36 %) at the works of others. In this research, the prices taken for various agricultural works in unit area in research area and the mechanization costs in unit area in the research area were compared and it was tested whether the tractors were used rationally or not.
