Bu tartışılan problemlerden biri programlar diğeri de Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki metinlerdir. Programların hazırlanmasında ortaya konan amaçlar ile Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki metinlerin moral değerler açısından önemi eğitim açısından tartışılamayacak derecede büyüktür. İlkokul 4 ve 5. sınıflarda (1948-1949’dan, 1967-1968’e kadar) okutulan Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki “olaya dayalı” türlerden oluşan metinler moral değerler açısından incelenmeye alınmıştır. Bu metinler, çocuk edebiyatı açısından çocuklarımıza neler kazandırmış, nasıl bir değerler sistemiyle onlarda davranış oluşturmuştur? Moral değerlerin kavratılmasında, onları geleceğe hazırlamada anlatım içinde dilin, anlatım biçimleri içinde ise, edebiyatın önemli bir yeri vardır. Türkçe derslerinde çocuklara verilecek metinlerin hedefine ulaşabilmesi, çocuklarda davranış değişikliği meydana getirebilmesi için, edebiyat ve eğitim ilişkisini hem kitap, hem metin yazarının, hem de öğretmenin iyi bilip kavraması gerekir.There are various problems and debated solutions in primary education, the basis of Turkish education system. One of the problems is the programs, the other is the texts in Turkish course books. The texts in Turkish course books are as important as the objectives of programs, in term of moral values. In this study, the texts in Turkish course books (from 1948-1949 to 1967- 1968) in 4th and 5th classes of primary school, which is composed of ''event driven genres'', were analysed in term of moral values. What did these texts give Turkish children for the purpose of children's literature, how did they compose behaviours for them? Language has an important role in expression while literature has a crucial role in expression forms in giving moral values and preparing them to the future.
