With the help of history, physical examination and histopathological features, the patient was diagnosed with iododerma secondary to topical povidone-iodine use. Iododerma develops frequently after oral or intravenous but rarely after topical use of iodine. Its pathogenesis is not well-known though it is widely believed that it is a delayed hypersensitivity reaction.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessOphthalmologyToxicologyIododermaPovidone-iodineTopical applicationAdministration, topicalAdultAnti-infective agents, localArmDrug eruptionsHumansMalePovidone-IodineSkinIododerma following topical povidone-iodine applicationArticle0003235273000152-s2.0-8488313742133934032423560395https://doi.org/10.3109/15569527.2013.780181OphthalmologyToxicologyAcne; Folliculitis; Acne VulgarisPovidone iodineSteroidAdultArmArticleCase reportClinical assessmentDisease courseDisinfectionEosinophilEpidermisFumigationGauze dressingHistopathologyHumanInfection preventionIododermaMaleNeutrophilOutpatient departmentPunch biopsySkin abrasionSkin abscessSkin defectSkin examinationSkin infectionSkin manifestationSteroid therapy1556-9535
