Selvinin rüzgar perdesi ve orman yangınlarında perde olarak kullanılmaya başlaması böceğin tahribatını arttırabilecektir. Bu nedenle biyolojisi ve zararları incelenerek koruma önlemleri üzerinde durulmuştur.This widely spreading insect doesn't cause any epidemics in Turkey because of the lack of places aboundung in cypresses, but it makes trees useless in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where cypresses are widely used in plantation areas. Along with the start of using cypresses as wind screens and against forest fires damages caused by that insect will probably increase.
