Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim desen ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada on sınıf öğretmeni ile yedi okul öncesi öğretmeni ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda ev ziyaretlerinin öğrenciyi tanıma açısından olumlu bir etki meydana getirdiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğretmenler ev ziyaretleri ile öğrencinin yaşadığı ev ortamı hakkında bilgi sahibi olarak sosyo-ekonomik durumu hakkında daha ayrıntılı bilgi sahibi olduklarını düşünmektedirler. Zaman zaman öğrenci bilgi formları ile sağlanan bilgilerle birebir karşılaşmanın çocuğun içinde yaşadığı koşulları anlama konusunda daha etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu ziyaretlerin öğrencinin yaşadığı ruhsal ve sosyal sorunları, ihtiyaçlarını, varsa çocuğun anlatamadığı durumları anlamayı ve çözmeye yardımcı olmayı kolaylaştırdığı belirlenmiştir.In this study, the opinion of classroom and pre-school teachers about the home visits, which are one of the techniques to understand the students and their environment, were identified. Here, among the qualitative research methods, the semi-structured interview method was employed. The interviews were made with 10 primary school teachers and 7 preschool teachers during the study. The results revealed that the home visits have a positive effect in terms of understanding the student. The teachers stated that, even for a little while, they had an opportunity to observe the parents’ attitudes towards each other or their children. By obtaining information about students’ home environment during these visits, the teacher thought that they had detailed information about the socio-economic conditions of students. It was determined that personally observing the conditions of student in terms of the information provided by student information forms is more effective in understanding the conditions, in which the child lives.
