Candidemia is most frequently seen among the invasive Candida infections. Pulmonary candidiasis is rare. Diagnosis of pulmonary candidiasis is difficult although it is frequently considered differential diagnosis of pneumonia in immunocompromised patients and requires histopathological confirmation. The diagnostic value of Candida spp. isolation from sputum or specimens of lower respiratory tract is controversial.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessCandida infectionsCandida pneumoniaScience & technologyLife sciences & biomedicineMedicine, general & internalMicrobiologyGeneral & internal medicinePulmonary candidiasisArticle0004208222000016770203
