Safvân'ın ortaya attığı Kur'anın yaratılmış ol­duğu fikrini serbestçe tartışmış ve Me'mûn'un ilmi sohbetlerinde yer almıştır. Hadisçiler tarafından bid'atçı ve cehmî olmakla suçlanan Bisr, istitâat (kudret), kaza- kader, irade ve kulların fiillerinin yaratılması konusunda siinnî inancı benimsemiştir.Bıshr B. Ghıyâth al-Marisî who founded the Marîsıyya party of the Murdjia has got his knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence from Abu Yusuf; he has also nar- rated a small number of traditions from Hamtnad b. Salama and Sufyân b. Uyayna. Furthermore, he has freely debated the idea that the Koran had been created which Djahm B. Safvân brought forth, and has entered into the scientific talks of Ma'mün.
