Besides, it had been expresself that we must have the disaster management system to be applied in state of disaster, otherwise hazard of disasters can be bed to the biggest problems.Bu çalışmada yüzyılın felaketi olarak adlandırılan 17 Ağustos İzmit ve 12 Kasım Düzce Depremlerinde oluşan yapısal çevresel hasarların etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda ülkemizdeki çarpık kentleşme olgusuna ve bunun sonuçlarına değinilmiştir.
