Abstract: Piretroid insektisidlerden bioalletrin içeren likid sivrisinek kovucu peraparat inhalasyon yoluyla dört ay süreyle, günde sekiz saat verilerek ratlardaki kronik toksik etkileri toksikolojik ve histopatolojik yönleriyle araştırıldı. Sivrisinek kovucu buhara maruz kalan ratlarda klinik olarak kronik noyrotoksik belirtiler gorüldü. Akciğer lavaj sıvılarında total protein düzeyinde yükselme ve asit Josfataz aktivitesinde düşme kontrol grubuna gore onemli (p < 0.05) bulundu. Serumda globulin, total protein (p < 0.001) ve asit fosfataz (p < 0.05) düzeyinde önemli bir artış ; üre ve zire nitrojen, albumin düzeyinde, aspartat aminotransferaz ve gamma glutamil transpeptidaz aktivitesinde onemli bir artış kaydedilmedi.
Chronic toxicological effects and histopathologic aspects of liquid mosquito repellent which contains bioallethrin, a pyrethroid insecticide, was administered to rats by inhalation for eight hours daily for four months were examined. Smoke-exposed rats clinically showed signs of chronic neurotoxicity. In the lavage fluid of lungs of smoke-exposed rats, the levels of total protein were significantly higher and the levels of acid phosphatase were significantly lower (p < 0.01) than those of controls. There were significant increases ofsenlm enzymes, including total protein, globulin (p < 0.001) and acid phosphatase (p < 0.05), but there were no significant increases of serum urea and urea nitrogen, albumin, aspartate aminotranferase and gamma glutamyltranspeptidase. The level of serum thyroxine were decreased significantly (p < 0.05), but no significant decrease was observed in triiodothyronin
