Giorgio Agamben ve Michel Foucault: Benzeşimler ve kopuşlar

Abstract

Agamben son dönem postmodern düşüncenin reddiyelerini ve yeniden inşa felsefesini benimsemiş olan düşünürler arasında kayda değer bir yer tutmaktadır. Kendisinin “egemen iktidar” ve “biyopolitika” hakkında yapmış olduğu açılımların geniş bir kısmı Foucault’nun attığı temeller üzerinde yükseldiği ortaya konulmaktadır. Literatürdeki bu indirgemeci varsayımın tekrarlanmaması ve ikili arasındaki benzeşimler kadar kopuşların da olduğunu ortaya koyabilmek amacıyla bu çalışma kaleme alınmıştır. Hatta daha önceden Foucault ve Agamben eksenli kaleme alınan çalışmaların geniş bir kısmı doğrudan biyopolitika merkezli işlenirken söz konusu olan bu çalışma, Agamben’e ait olan teorik zeminin neredeyse tamamını inceleyip, Foucault ile benzeştiği ve koptuğu noktalar üzerinde durmaktadır. Bundan dolayı çalışma literatürdeki diğer metinlere kıyasla ikili hakkında daha özgün ve derli toplu veri sunmaya çalışmaktadır. Sonuç olarak Foucault ve Agamben siyasal alan ve öznenin tutsaklığı konusunda kesişse de iktidar ve normatif hukukun işleyişi konusunda birbirlerinden kopmaktadırlar. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın Agamben ve Foucault’nun karşılaştırılması neticesinde, yeniden yorumlanmasını mümkün kılacak okumalara kapı aralaması beklenmektedir.

Agamben occupies a noteworthy place among the thinkers who have adopted the rejection and reconstruction philosophy of recent postmodern thought. Agamben’s expansions on “sovereign power” and “biopolitics” are largely based on the foundations laid by Foucault. This study has been written in order not to repeat this reductionist assumption in the literature and to reveal that there are similarities as well as ruptures between the two. In fact, while a large part of the studies previously written on the axis of Foucault and Agamben were directly centred on biopolitics, this study examines almost all of the theoretical ground belonging to Agamben and focuses on the points of similarity and rupture with Foucault. Therefore, compared to other texts in the literature, this study endeavours to present more original and organised data about the two. As a result, although Foucault and Agamben intersect on the political sphere and the subject’s captivity, they differ from each other on the functioning of power and normative law. In this respect, as a result of the comparison of Agamben and Foucault, it is expected to open the door to readings that will make it possible to reinterpret them.
