Abstract
Tarihsel süreç içerisinde bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan gelişmeler sonucu toplumsal yapıda oluşan değişimler, yaşam alışkanlıklarıyla beraber kentsel mekânların biçimlerini, işlevlerini ve yapılarını değiştirmiştir. Bu değişimle beraber kalite kavramına ilişkin beklentiler de değişmiş olup, bu durum mekân kalitesi kavramına ilişkin yeni tanımları ve parametreleri gerekli kılmıştır. Kalite kavramı çok farklı bileşenleri içeren bir kavram olduğu için bu tanım ve parametrelerin geliştirilmesi de her bir mekânın kendine has niteliklerini dikkate almayı gerektirmektedir. Bu bağlamda, Bursa Hanlar Bölgesi'ni yeniden canlandırmak adına katkı sağlaması düşünülen bu çalışmada, bu alanda bir mekân kalitesi tanımı yapılmış ve buna ilişkin kalite parametreleri geliştirilmiştir. Böylelikle Bursa Hanlar Bölgesi'nde yer alan kentsel mekânların kalitesi irdelenmiştir. Tezin giriş bölümünde, çalışmanın amacı, kapsamı ve yöntemine ilişkin bilgiler yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kentsel mekânlardan kullanıcı gereksinimleri doğrultusunda olması beklenen mekân kalitesi ölçütlerini tespit etmek ve Hanlar Bölgesi'ndeki kentsel mekânların, bu tespitler ışığında beklenen mekân kalitesine sahip olup olmadığını belirleyerek yeni öneriler geliştirmektir. Aynı zamanda bu çalışmanın daha sonra irdelenecek diğer kentsel mekânlar için model olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Çalışma kurgusal olarak giriş, gelişme ve sonuç bölümleri olarak üç bölüme ayrılmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde kentsel mekân kalitesine yönelik literatür araştırmalarının bulunduğu kavramsal ve kuramsal tanımlamalar yer almaktadır. Burada mekân tanımları, insan çevre ilişkileri, insanların temel gereksinimleri ve kalite kavramından bahsedilmiştir. Bu bölümde, çalışma Maslow'un insan ihtiyaçları hiyerarşisinden yola çıkarak, insan gereksinimleri doğrultusunda, mekâna ilişkin beklentileri ortaya koymaya çalışmıştır. Mekâna ilişkin olarak ortaya konulan beklentiler ışığında kalite göstergeleri oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, birinci bölümdeki bilgiler ışığında çalışma alanı olan Bursa Hanlar Bölgesi'ndeki kentsel mekânlar olan hanların avluları incelenerek tespitler yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda önce Hanlar Bölgesi hakkında bilgi verilmiş, daha sonra Hanlar Bölgesi'nde kullanıcı gereksinimlerinin ve buna bağlı olarak kalite göstergelerinin neler olduğunun araştırılmasına yönelik anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde, sonuç ve değerlendirme başlığı altında ikinci bölümdeki anket çalışması sonucunda elde edilen tespitler ışığında öneriler geliştirilmesi hedeflenmiştir.
The evolution of the societal structure resulting from the development of information and telecommunication technologies in the course of history changes, along side with life habits, has shaped functions and structures of the urban places. Together with this change, the expectation to the concept of the quality has also changed which necessitates the new definitions and parameters about the concept of the space quality. Because the concept of quality consists of various components, the promotion of these definitions and parameters requires taking the specific qualifications of the particular space into consideration. In this context, this study which is expected to contribute to the revival of the Bursa Khans Region gives a definition of space quality and develops pertaining quality parameters for the Region. In this way, it is desired to examine the quality of the urban spaces located in the Bursa Khans Region. Aim, scope and the methodology of the study are included in the introduction part of the thesis. The aim of the study is to identify criteria of the space quality expected through users' needs from urban spaces, and to develop new proposals by determining whether the urban spaces in the Khans Region own space quality which is supposed to be in the light of the identification made here. At the same time, it is considered that this study might be a model for the future examinations of the other urban spaces. The study has been divided into three parts structurally consisting of introduction, body and conclusion parts. In the first part of the study, conceptual and theoretical definitions are included along with review of literature related to the urban space quality. The definitions of space, the relationship between human and environment, the basic needs of human and the concept of quality are mentioned in this part. Taking Maslow's human requires hierarchy as the starting point, the study tries to set forth the expectations from a space in accordance with the human needs in this part. In the light of the revealed expectations from a space, indications for the quality have been formed. In the second part of the study, in the light of the information concluded from the first part, by examining the courtyards of the khans which are the urban spaces of the Bursa Khans Region some findings have been determined. In this context, firstly some information about the Khans Region is provided, then a survey is conducted towards the needs of the users and, accordingly, the quality indications in the Region. In the third part of the study, under the titles of conclusion and evaluation, it is aimed to develop some proposals according to findings concluded from the survey in the second part.
