Abstract
Modern Batı toplumları, sürekli refah artışını arzulayan ve bunu da ekonomik büyümeye endeksleyen bir anlayışa sahiptir. Gerçekten modern kapitalizmin içselleştirilmesiyle birlikte Batı’da büyük ölçekli üretim ve büyüme kabiliyeti kazanılır. Ancak ekonomik parametrelerin nihai amaç haline dönüşmesi ekonomik faaliyetlere motivasyon sağlayan değerlerin geri plana itilmelerine neden olur. Bu durum adaletsizlikleri tetiklediği gibi Batı insanında bir takım anlam kaybı problemlerine de yol açar. Bu bağlamda çalışmada sadece kendi faydasına odaklanan modern bireyin patolojik problemlerinin çözümlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için Weberyen sosyolojiden üretilen pratik-rasyonellik olgusu Aristo düşüncesi ekseninde araştırılmıştır. Tartışmada Schutz ve MacIntyre gibi düşünürlere müracaat edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, gerek sosyal ve iktisadi adaletsizliklerin giderilmesinde gerekse bireyin anlam kaybından kurtulmasında, amaç ve değer içerikli pratik-rasyonel anlayış ve eylemin özümsenmesini zaruri kılar.
Modern Western societies have an understanding that desires an increase in welfare and links it to economic growth. Indeed, with the internalization of modern capitalism, large-scale production and growth capabilities are gained in the West. However, the conversion of economic parameters to the ultimate aim causes the values that motivate economic activities to be pushed into the background. This situation triggers injustices as well as causing loss of meaning problems in Western people. In this context, this study aims to solve the pathological problems of the modern individual, which focuses only on his benefit. For this, the practical-rationality phenomenon, produced from Weberian sociology, was researched in the axis of Aristotle thought. In this discussion, thinkers such as Schutz and MacIntyre were consulted. The findings obtained necessitate the internalization of practical-rational understanding and action with purpose and value, both in the elimination of social and economic injustices and individual's loss of meaning.
