Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokuma-yazma öğretiminde Ses Temelli Cümle Yöntemi'nin uygulanmaya başlandığı 2005-2006 eğitim-öğretim yılından 2014-2015 eğitim- öğretim yılına kadar ilkokul 1. sınıflarda okutulan "Türkçe 1-Okuma Yazma Öğreniyorum" ders kitaplarının çok yönlü olarak incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla STCY'nin her bir basamağının ders kitaplarına nasıl yansıtıldığının ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın veri toplama aracı 2005-2006 öğretim yılından itibaren İlkokul 1. sınıflarda okutulmak üzere kabul edilen ve ihaleden geçerek okullara ücretsiz gönderilen "Türkçe 1-Okuma Yazma Öğreniyorum" ders kitaplarından ulaşılan dokuz farklı ders kitabıdır. Bu eserler okullara gönderildikleri yıllar dikkate alınarak A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H ve I harfleriyle kodlanmıştır.
The purpose of this research is to carry out a multifaceted review of the "Turkish 1- I Am Learning to Read and Write" books used in first grade primary school between the academic years 2005-2006, when the Phonetics Based Sentence Method (PBSM) was first implemented, up to 2014-2015. Towards this end an attempt to portray how each phase of PBSM is reflected within the books was made. As a method of data collection, nine different course books attained from the "Turkish 1 - I Am Learning to Read and Write" book set, which are sent to schools free of charge after being accepted as course books for the first grade and after a contract process. The works have been coded as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, with the years they have been sent to schools taken into consideration. For the evaluation of the course books, eight distinct category have been determined which reflect the stages of the method. These categories are: 1. Reading preparation, 2. Writing preparation, 3. Sensing, recognizing and differentiating sound, 4. Reading and writing letters, 5. Forming syllables from letters, 6. Forming words from syllables, 7. Forming sentences from words, 8. Forming texts. According to the National Ministry of Education and Course Books and Educational Tools Regulations, any course books prepared by educational units or publishers have to fit in with criteria specified within the Regulations. This includes meeting criteria in fields such as content; language, expression and methodology; learning, teaching, measurement and assessment; technical, design and editing criteria. Within the scope of this study, the course books are evaluated with regards to their "content" and "language, expression and methodology. The contents of each step of the PBSM were evaluated by the document analysis method. Results that have been obtained by evaluations have been presented through tables or graphics. It has been determined that the reflection of each step of the method on the education and training program was different. For example, it has been observed that three of the works have not included the "reading preparation" step and the other textbooks including this step did focused on different activities. In terms of "Language, expression and wording", faulty usage of words determined by the Turkish Language Association has been observed. Also, the selection and usage of certain words were not appropriate for the levels of students. In addition, it has been determined that nearly half of the texts included in the "text formation" lack coherent meaning. Current research results reveal the need for standards in the preparation of textbooks. If this can be done, pupils' meeting with appropriate sources at the start of school will be provided by reducing errors and omissions to minimum in textbooks.
