Item Myndos mosaics(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2011-06-01) Şahin, Derya; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi/Arkeoloji Bölümü.The subject of this paper are the floor mosaics of Myndos that were found in the excavations. Three of them were uncovered in the different places. The first mosaic is just inside the west edge of the breakwater which was constructed to control the entrance of the harbor and which drew attention in the land survey of 2004. The second mosaic covering was found during the 2006 excavations on a podium in the north-west part of the city. The last mosaic is the floor pavement that was found on Asar (Tavşan-Rabbit) island in the 2009 excavations. We have noted that the motifs of the Kos-Torba-Myndos mosaics belong to the same repertoire.Item Speed-reading techniques and the implementability in Turkish(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2011-06-01) Öztahtalı, İbrahim İmran; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi/Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü.The beginning of the action of reading extends as old as the beginning of the history. Being able to read efficiently, making reading work, depends on the conciousness and technical knowledge about reading. Most of the literate have wrong reading habits like reading word by word and reading aloud inside that prevent efficiency in reading. These bad habits about reading weaken the comprehension as well as the reading rate. We can increase the reading rate and the comprehension by having a concious reader profile. The studies in this field resulted in the concept of speed-reading after the World War II, and a series of technical methods were developed to make reading faster and more comprehensible. These technical methods, which are basically based on increasing the coordination of the eyes and the brain, are implemented in the same way in all languages when the operation of the eyes and the brain is considered; due to the fact that these methods are based on the visualization and the making sense of the visualization in all languages. Speed-reading process naturally starts by reading. There are three phases of the process: A Regular Reading Habit, Having a Concious Reader Profile, and Increasing the Reading Rate. All these phases cab be carried out very efficiently and easily when the structural and semantic features of Turkish are considered. In this study, the implementability and efficiency of speed-reading techniques and methods in terms of Turkish will be tried to be put forward.Item Warrior at Muhibbi Divan(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2011-06-01) Durmaz, Gülay; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi/Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü.Kanuni, who was one of the ruler poets of the XVI century, was also the son of Yavuz Sultan Selim and the tenth sultan of the Ottoman Empire. He proved that he was such a great poet with his poems under the name Muhibbi (lover). Kanuni, who is also known with his military and political achievements, extended the boarders of the Empire to the doors of Vienna. In his era, Ottoman armies battled in Europe, Asia and Africa and the territories of the Empire were widened in these continents with the victories. Kanuni directed many of the military expedition by himself. While keeping his sultanate with a lasting war determination, he also behaved as a great sultan in his Divan. The verses containing the word "warrior" clearly show his greatness.
