The variation of the coefficient of performance according to changes in the condenser and evaporator temperatures, calculat by a computer program are given. The effect of superheating and subcooling on the coefficient of performance is explained by curues. Concepts of heat pump efficiency and primary energy rate are given and the factors affecting them are examined.Item Çamcağız kaolininin (İvrindi - Balıkesir) jeolojisi ve teknolojik özellikleri(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Erdinç, Hayri; Mühendislik Fakültesi; İnşaat BölümüIn this study, the Palaeozoic (Pre-Permian, Permian) and Cenozoic (Tertiary, Quaternary) rocks and the kaolin deposit in the location of Çamcağız around Küçük Yenice village of lurindi town in Balıkesir have been investigated. The kaolin deposit of Çamcağız was derived from the alteration of the pyroclastic rocks of Tertiary age by hydrothermal solutions. DTA, X-ray diffractometer and electron microscope analysis of the specimens collected from the pit have confirmed that kaolinite was the chief clay mineral and alunite, quartz and iron oxide minerals were the impurities. The Kaolin reserve of Çamcağız aero has been estimated about 1.273.200 tons (visible + probably) and is currently being used essentially in the ceramic industry. Studies also show that the above mentioned row material can be used in paper pulp which serves as a filling substance. In contrast, kaolin in the Çakmak area contains iron oxide and alunite in higher degrees and therefore can not be used in the ceramic industry without purificotion.Item Computer-aided-design of workholding devices(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Öztürk, F.; Mühendislik Fakültesi; Makine BölümüThis paper describes a CAD system used for workholder design. Examples for nucleating agents and optical whiteners are given. Physical whitening agents are examined in two groups as blueing materials and fluorescent brighteners. Their regions in the spectrum are given. On the other hand fluorescent brighteners are classified as anionic, cationic and diapers and also they are explained. Asa result the criteria for selecting a brightener are given.Item Floating ADC method for series- parallel A/D conversion(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Tütüncüoğlu, Ergür; Mühendislik FakültesiIn this paper, a fully integrable 8 bit series-parallel AD converter based on a new "floating ADC" principle is presented. Cross-plot tests of the experimental converter revealed that the differential nonlinearity of the 8 bit system will be less than ± LSB for an analog input voltage of fV pp· A converter of this type provides a good alternative to the all parallel system at sampling frequencies up to 100 M Hz. when chip size and power dissipation must be reduced.Item The investigation of the effecfs of fatigue on the residual strength of composite materials(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Ülkü, Sedat; Mühendislik FakültesiThis paper presents the results of an investigation into the effects of fatigue on the residual strength of a 0°/90° CFRP composite. Cycling was carried out at five different stress levels over a range of 60 % to 90 % of the ultimate tensile strength of the composite. For a given stress level a relationship has been derived between the residual strength and the fatigue life of the composite. This relationship the fatigue characteristics for any given stress level without the need for time consuming and expensive testing. It has been shown that stress concentrations affect a crossplied laminate to a lesser extent than unidirectional laminates and homogeneous materials.Item Bir kaymalı yatağın elasto hidrodinamik incelenmesinde sonlu farklara dayanan bilgisayar programı(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Dinç, Saim; Güllü, Emin; Kopmaz, Osman; Mühendislik Fakültesi; Makine BölümüIn this study performance characteristics of journal bearings are investigated, including the shaft deformation. To determine the pressure distribution and oil film thickness Reynolds' differential equation is solved with Reynolds type of boundary conditions while constitutive equations, usable for linear elastic materials, are utilized to determine the deformations. When shaft deformation is considered together with linear deformotion, bearing performance is observed to be in negligibly important. Therefore it can be concluded that elasticities of bearing materials must be taken into account during design.Item Kurşun-antimuan alaşımlarının hızlı katılaştırma ile üretimi ve pb-asit akümülatörlerine uygulanması açısından önemi(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Demirci, A. Als ein Anwendungsbeispiel dieser Verfahren wurde hiermit versucht, anhand einer Reihe von Pb-Sn-Legierungen den Einfluss der Abkühlgeschwindigkeit auf ihre Eigenschaftanderungen zu ermitteln, sowie die Bedeutung erzielter Untersuchungsergebnissen bezüglich der Anwend Wendbarkeit an Pb-Akkumulatoren zu zeigen.Item Methode de determination du profil de la constante diélectrique a partir de la connaissance du champ électrique(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Oktay, Ali; Mühendislik Fakültesi; Elektronik BölümüLa détermination d’un profil de constante diélectrique est un problème de grand intérêt susceptible d 'applications nombreuses dans la conception de composants micro-ondes. L'objet de cet étude est de reconstruire un profil de constante diélectrique dans un guide d'onde rectangulaire rempli homogénéiquement de matériaux diélectriques, à partir de la connaissance de la configuration du champ électrique. Cette méthode donne un moyen technique pour connaître des propriétés d 'un matériau diélectrique traités par des hyperfréquences en vue de réaliser des applicateurs assurant un transfert efficace d 'énergie.Item Nükleer fisyon(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Dinçer, Salih; Mühendislik FakültesiFission reaction is a special type of a nuclear reaction in which a large nucleus split into two medium-mass nuclear fragments and additional two are three neutrons, but also a large amount of energy is emitted. A special type of fission in which a heavy nucleus such as U2 3 5 absorbs a slow neutron and breaks into two equal-size fragments in each such fission 200 Me V of energy is released. In a nuclear reactor the number of fissions per unit time is controlled and the liberated nuclear energy is used to make steam to drive turbines and generate electrical power. If the reaction is uncontrolled the number of fissions will increase geometrically, resulting in all the energy of the source being released over a short time interval, producing a nuclear bomb. The theoretical work is subdivided into classical and finite element methods. General principles and design guidelines are also presented.The load carrying joints in composite materials can be affected by two basic methods is mechanical fastening or adhesive bonding. This work is seen to be related mainly to theoretical results, derived either from classical analytical or finite element methods. The various approaches are compared with each other arıd, wlıere possible, willı experimental data.This work, mostly theoretical, relating to all aspects of adhesively bonded joints in composite materials is reviewed. Menzles' critical point estimates of 2000 bars, 800 K and 0.33258 cm3/g were used. Moreover, the relations of the speed of sound were derived in 8ingle and two-phase domains for adiabatic process.
