Abstract
Bulundukları dönemin birer aynası olan süreli yayınlar yazıldıkları dönemi canlı olarak aktaran iletişim araçlarındandır. 1963-1976 yılları arasında yayın faaliyetinde bulunan Uyanış Dergisi günümüz eğitim sorunlarıyla benzerlikler taşıması açısından önemlidir. İzmir Eğitim Enstitüsü tarafından çıkarılan Uyanış Dergisi’nde öğretmenler arasında mesleki bilgi ve beceriler paylaşılırken eğitim sorunları tespit edilerek çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Bu sorunların bazıları halen günümüzde devam etmektedir. Uyanış Dergisi’nin içeriğinde yaparak ve yaşayarak öğrenmek, ana dil eğitiminin önemi, kitap okuma alışkanlığı kazanmak, ezberci eğitim anlayışından uzaklaşmak gibi önemli konular karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı 1963-1976 yılları arasında çıkan Uyanış Dergisi’nde ortaya konan eğitim ile ilgili gelişmeleri ve sorunları ortaya koyarak Uyanış Dergisi’ni eğitim açısından incelemektir. Dergide eğitim ile ilgili gelişmeler, eğitim sorunları ile ilgili yazar görüşleri, eğitim enstitülerinin sorunları, Atatürkçülük anlayışı, Kıbrıs Sorunu, 27 Mayıs 1960 Darbesi, dönemin öğrenci olaylarının dergi yayınlarına yansıması incelenmiştir. Dergide Osmanlı tarihine yönelik eleştiriler ve yazarların bakış açıları değerlendirilmiştir. Dergide eğitim sorunlarına ve öğretmenlik sorunlarına ulaşılmıştır. Dergi yayınlandığı dönemin güncel ve siyasi olaylarını içerisinde barındırmaktadır. Araştırma sürecinde toplamda 134 sayı olan Uyanış Dergisi’nin tamamına İstanbul Beyazıt Devlet Kütüphanesinden ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı Uyanış Dergisi'ni eğitim açısından inceleyerek günümüz eğitim sorunlarının çözümüne yardımcı olmaktır. Tezin birinci bölümünde problem durumu belirlenmiş, ikinci bölümde dergiyle ilgili kuramsal çerçeve hazırlanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise araştırmada kullanılacak olan yöntem ifade edilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde Uyanış Dergisi eğitim problemleri açısından, Atatürkçülük ile ilgili tartışmalar açısından, Eğitim enstitülerinin sorunları açısından, güncel olayların dergiye yansıması, Osmanlı tarihine bakış, 27 Mayıs 1960 darbesine bakış, Kıbrıs’ın milli bir hassasiyet olarak dergiye yansıması, dönemin öğrenci olaylarının dergiye yansıması açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Beşinci bölümde ise sonuç ve öneriler kısmı bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca derginin indeksi çıkarılmıştır.
Periodicals are considered as mirrors that functions as a live communication medium of the term they were published.Uyanış Journal, published between 1963 and 1976, is also important in enlightening today's educational problems. While the professional knowledge and skills were assignedamong the teachers in the Uyanış Journal issued by the Izmir Institute of Education, educational problems were defined, and solutions were offered. Some of these problems still exist today. In the content of the Uyanış Journal, critical issues such as learning by doing and living, the importance of mother tongue education, gaining the habit of reading books and avoiding educational routes based just on memorizationof contentsare some of the subjects held. The aim of this research is to examine the Uyanış Journal in terms of education by revealing the developments and problems related to the education in the Uyanış Journal published between 1963-1976. In the journal, developments related to education, authors’ opinions about education problems, problems of education institutions, understanding of Atatürkism, Cyprus Problem, the27 May 1960Coup, the reflection of the student events/protests of the period to the journal publications were examined. Critics of Ottoman history and the viewpoints of the authors were evaluated in the journal. Educational and teaching problems were reached in the journal. All Uyanış journals, a total of 134 issues, were reached from the Istanbul Beyazit State Library. The aim of the study is to examine Uyanış Journal in terms of education and to shed light on today's educational problems. In the first part of the thesis, the problem is determined and in the second part the conceptual framework related to the journal is prepared. In the third section, the method to be used in the research is expressed.In the fourth chapter,the Uyanış Journal in terms of education problems, in terms of discussions about Kemalism,in terms of problems of educational institutions, reflection of current events in the journal, approaches tothe Ottoman history, view of the 27 May 1960Coup, reflection of Cyprus issuein light of national sensitivity, the reflection of the student events/protestof the period in the journal was evaluated. In the fifth chapter, there are conclusions and recommendations. In addition, the index of the journal has been listed.
