Abstract
Son devir müfessirlerinden olan Muhammed Ferid Vecdi, klasik İslam modernizminin önemli temsilcileriden biridir. Çalışmada onun tefsirciliği ele alınmıştır. Tez üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüme XX. Asırda İslam dünyası ve Batı arasındaki ilişkiler ve İslam düşüncesinin kısa tarihi ile giriş yapılmıştır. Akabinde müfessirin yaşadığı dönem, hayatı ve ilmi şahsiyeti ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde müfessirin tefsirinin mukaddimesi, el-Mushaful Müfesser, adını verdiği tefsiri ve tefsir görüşleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise XX. Asırda Kur'an yorumunda meydana gelen değişimler ve Muhammed Ferid Vecdi’nin tefsir görüşlerinin yaşadığı dönem açısından bir değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.
As a last era mufassir Muhammed Ferid Vecdi is one of the important representatives of classical Islamic modernism. In this study, his work as a mufassir is discussed. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter is started with the short history of the relations between the Islamic world and the West in the 20th century. Subsequently, the period of time which the mufassir lived in, his life and scientific personality are discussed. In the second chapter, the preface of the mufassir’s tafsir, his tafsir, named by him as el-Mushaful Mufesser, and his opinions of tafsir are examined. In the third chapter, the changes in the interpretation of the Qur’an which occurred in the 20th century, and Muhammed Ferid Vecdi’s tafsir opinions are assessed in terms of his times.
