Abstract
Tezin ilk bölümünde, havlu kumaşlar genel olarak tanıtılmış; tarihçesi ve teknolojisi incelenmiştir, ikinci bölümde, havın geometrisi ve dokunabilirliği incelenmiş, nem alma üzerine etki eden strüktür özellikleri tek tek gözden geçirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerle optimum özellikleri sağlayan havlu kumaşın bilgisayarda programlanması yapılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde kurulan modelin pratikte uygulanabilirliği araştırılmış ve son bölümde sonuçlar tartışılmıştır.
In the first part of this thesis, towelling fabrics are introduced in general and history and technology of towelling fabrics are given. In the second part, the geometry of pile and the weaveability of the terry fabric are examined. The structural proper ties that affect the characteristics of the imbibition are rese arched in detail. With the aid of obtained data, the structure of terry towelling fabric which provide optimum properties is determined by computerized modelling. In the third part, the practical applicability of the model is researched and finally, the results are discussed.
