Abstract
Belirli bir dönemin siyasi anlayışı, ekonomisi ve teknolojik altyapısı ile şekillenen kentlerde o dönemin mimarlık ve planlama faaliyetleri, kentsel mekan oluşumu ve mimarlık söylemine dair bilgi aktaran önemli kaynaklardan birisi yazılı basın haberleridir. Ülke genelinde alınan siyasi kararlar, bu kararlara bağlı olarak çıkarılan kanun ve uygulanan yönetmelikler, farklı dinamiklere sahip olan kentlerde farklı yerel süreçleri ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Yerelde farklılaşan imar faaliyetlerine ilişkin önemli bilgi kaynaklarından birisi yerel yazılı basın haberlerdir. Aynı zamanda yerel basın haberleri, dönemin mimarlık söylemine ışık tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, yerel basın haberleri mimarlık düşüncesini oluşturan asıl kaynak olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, Bursa kent merkezindeki mimarlık ve planlama faaliyetleri ile kentsel mekan oluşumunun yerel yazılı basın haberleri üzerinden analiz edilmesidir. Çalışma alanı Bursa kent merkeziyle sınırlandırılmıştır. Ülkedeki siyasi ortamın değişimi, kentleşme tarihindeki eşikler, planlama ve mimarlık faaliyetleri, gazeteciliğin yıllar içindeki gelişimi göz önünde bulundurularak, 1950-1990 yılları arası incelenecek dönem olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu dönemde yayımlanan Hakimiyet gazetesi haberleri çalışmanın ana kaynağıdır. Hakimiyet gazetesinin seçilme nedeni, incelenen döneme kesintisiz eşlik etmesi, o dönemde yüksek tiraja sahip olması ve gazete nüshalarının tamamına erişilebilmesidir. Çalışma kapsamında gazete haberleri taranmış, konusu mimarlık ve planlamayla direkt ilişkili haberlerin yanı sıra kent merkezinde gerçekleşen her türlü yapım, yıkım faaliyetine ilişkin haberler, şehirleşme ile ilgili alınan kararlar, konuyla ilişkili köşe yazıları ve karikatürler incelenmek için seçilmiştir. Seçilen haberler, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak planlama, uygulama, koruma ana kategorileri altında sınıflandırılmıştır. 1950-1990 yılları arasındaki dönem onar yıllık periyotlara ayrılarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, hangi mimarlık ve planlama faaliyetlerinin yerel basının gündeminde yer aldığı tespit edilmiş, en fazla haberi yapılan yapılar, caddeler, konut alanları gibi kentsel mekanlar belirlenmiştir.
One of the most important sources conveying information about the architectural and planning practices of that period, urban space formation and architectural discourse in cities shaped by the political understanding, economy and technological infrastructure of a certain period is the printed press. Political decisions taken throughout the country, laws and regulations adopted based on these decisions reveal different local processes in cities with different dynamics. One of the important sources of information regarding the development activities differentiating locally is the local printed press. At the same time, local press news shed light on the architectural discourse of the period. In this study, local press news has been determined as the main source of architectural thought. The aim of the study is to analyze the architecture and planning activities in Bursa city center and urban space formation through local printed press. The study area is limited to Bursa city center. Considering the change in the political environment in the country, the thresholds in the history of urbanization, planning and architectural activities, and the development of journalism over the years, the period between 1950 and 1990 was determined as the period to be examined. The news of Hakimiyet newspaper published in this period is the main source of the study.The reason for choosing Hakimiyet newspaper was that it accompanied the period under study without interruption, had a high daily circulation at that time and could access all of the newspaper prints. Within the scope of the study, news was reviewed and the news related to architecture and planning, as well as all kinds of production and demolition activities taking place in the city center, the decisions taken regarding urbanization, columns and comics related to the subject were selected to be examined. The selected news are classified under the main categories of planning, practice and protection using content analysis method. The period between 1950-1990 has been studied in periods of ten years. As a result of the study, it was determined which architectural and planning activities were on the agenda of the local press, and urban spaces such as the most reported buildings, streets and residential areas were determined.
