Abstract
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, hindistan cevizi üreticilerinin üretim aşamasında karşılaştığı sorunları belirlemektir. Çalışma Filipinler'in Lanao del Norte ilinde Ekim - Kasım 2016 tahirleri arasında yapılmıştır. Bu bölgede temel ürünün hindistan cevizi olması ve küçük aile işletmelerinin, bu üretimde önemli payının bulunması, nedeniyle konu araştırmaya değer bulunmuştur. Toplamda 400 kişiyle görüşülerek anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada, üreticilerinin karşılaştığı sorunlar, verimi etkileyen faktörler irdelenmiştir. Buna bağlı olarak devlet desteği de analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 23 istatistik programında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda işletmenin pazara olan uzaklığı, ara ziraat yapılması, işgücü maliyeti gibi sorunlar tespit edilmiştir. Fiyatların nispeten dalgalı ve düşük seyretmesi, bitki hastalık ve zararlıları, hasat sorunları, pazarlamada karşılaşılan yüksek maliyetli nakliye ve vergi gibi önemli sorunlara da rastlanmıştır. Regresyon analiz sonuçlarına göre, eğitim düzeyinin, arazinin (hektarda) büyüklüğünün, hektar başına dikilen ağaç sayısının, arazinin pazara olan uzaklığının ve hasat sıklığının Hindistan cevizi veriminde önemli bir etki gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Dahası, devlet desteklerinin çiftçilerin üreticiler için yeterli olmadığı da ortaya çıkmıştır.
The main purpose of this study is to identify the problems encountered by the coconut producers in coconut productions. The study was carried out in Lanao del Norte Province from October to November 2016. It was selected purposively for the reason that majority of the farming activities is coconut farming particularly smallholding farming. A total of 400 respondents were interviewed using closed-ended questionnaires. The study has specifically identified the internal and external problems faced by producers, the traditional agricultural practices in coconut production, and the factors influencing the coconut yield. The impact of the government supports on the farming of the farmers has also been analyzed. The data were analyzed with the assistance of SPSS version 23. The study revealed that the very serious problems encountered by the coconut producers in coconut production for internal problems were the long distance of the land from farm to market road, intercropping, and the high cost of laborers. The low and fluctuating price of coconut product has been found to be the external problems encountered. Furthermore, problems such as pests and diseases, problems in nut collections, high transportation expenses in marketing problem, and government taxes for the external problem were found as serious problems. The regression results revealed that the educational attainment, size of the land (in hectare), number of coconut tree planted per hectare, the distance of the land from the market road, and the frequency of harvesting nut show a strong influence on the yield in coconut production. Furthermore, the government supports were considered not beneficial on the farming of the farmers.
