Abstract
Kentler, farklı zaman dilimlerinde beklentilerin ve üzerine yüklenen sorumluluğun arttığı bir süreç içinde olmuştur. Bu süreç içerisinde kentler bu yükün altında yıpranmakta ve deforme olmaktadır. Gerçekleşen bu yıpranmayı onarabilecek en iyi çözümlerden biri de o kentin kimliğine, doğasına, değerlerine önem verilerek oluşturulabilecek olan kentsel dönüşümlerdir. Kentsel dönüşüm aşamasında; belirlenen alan için öngörülen süre dolmuş, üstlendiği işlevleri verimli olarak yerine getiremeyen, bulunduğu bölgeye ve kullanıcılarına hizmet vermekte zorlanan ve yakın çevresiyle uyum sağlayamayan bir alandan bahsetmek mümkündür. Bu süreç içerisindeki bölgenin kentsel dönüşüm ihtiyacı; kimi zaman öncelikli bir sorun nedeniyle olurken kimi zaman birden çok faktörün etkisindedir. Bu faktörler içerisinde ekonomik, sosyo-kültürel, fiziksel, sağlık, güvenlik gibi alt başlıklar bulunabilir. Santral Garaj 2 Bölgesi, alandaki taşıt ve yaya sirkülasyonunun da etkisiyle bulunduğu alana entegre olamamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı; bölgenin var olduğu dokuya günümüz koşullarında entegre edilmesi; hem alan kullanıcısı hem de kent kullanıcısı tarafından kullanımının arttırılmasının sağlaması ve alanın canlandırılmasına yönelik öneriler geliştirilmesidir.
Cities have been in a process of increasing expectations and responsibilities on different time periods. In this process, the cities fray and deteriorate under this burden. One of the best solutions that can repair this deterioration is the urban transformations that can be created by giving importance to the identity, nature and values of the city. In the urban transformation stage; it is possible to talk about a specified area that has expired, which can not function efficiently, has difficulty in serving to the region and its users and can not adapt to its environment in close proximity. Urban transformation of the region that is situated in this process can sometimes be due to a priority problem, while can sometimes be under the influence of multiple factors. These factors may include sub-topics such as economic, socio-cultural, physical, health and safety. Santral Garaj 2 Zone cannot be integrated to the area where it is located due to vehicle and pedestrian circulation. In this context, the aims of this study are; to integrate the region into the pattern in current conditions; to increase the use of the area by both the area users and the urban users, and to develop recommendations for revitalizing the area.
